A double-sided typewritten essay on the history of Eastville (now Holt, Ont.) from 1851-1861. The census of 1851 is the first that shows a population on McCowan Rd.near Mount Albert Sdrd, the present day sight of Holt. The letter follows the progress of growth of this small farming area until 1863, when the area gains a post office by the name of Holt. This essay is uncredited. |
